PS5 delivery problems soon Adé: Sony secures enough chips for 14.8 million consoles
The scarcity of Sony's Playstation 5 is only too well known console fans. Also, that the scarcity of semiconductor chips has a large proportion of it is likely to be for the fewest a novelty.
This is new: Now there are good news from pages Sonys for those who are still lurking on a console. In an investor presentation, Hiroki Totoki, the Financial Chief at Sony, declared that at least 14.8 million ps5 consoles should be sold in the current financial year (until March 31, 2022). Thus, the console should have been at the end of the fiscal year a total of 22.6 million times since the release.
Chipknaphing should not be a problem: and not only that, Sony has been able to secure itself enough of the scarce semiconductor chips to achieve the target of 14.8 million consoles produced.
Thus, the PS5 would soon reach the point, from which the console reaches the so-called break even point, so becomes profitable, instead of being sold to losses. Totoki explained that this plan "goes well".
Quota should rising steadily
These numbers coincide well with Sony's statements in the past. Here, the console manufacturers already assumed that the PS5 will be sold by March 31, 2023 45 million times - and thus the PS4 should exceed 5 million units over the same period.
At the same time, Hiroki Totoki had previously spoken that the PS5 scarcity could move until 2022 - and not only the lack of semiconductor chips was to blame. So it remains to be seen if Sony can really achieve his set destination, at least the manufacturer is confident.
Currently, PlayStation fans still have to be patient, because so far there are not enough consoles to meet demand. If you are on the hunt for a PS5, our Gampro ticker will help you with the PS5 purchase with always up-to-date information about new PS5 offers.
